Radley Handbag

I made this cake for my aunt’s best friend’s 30th birthday back last summer. She absolutely loved it, and refused to let anyone cut into it. I think it sat in her kitchen for 2 1/2 weeks before her husband convinced her to cut it. (I was honestly surprised to hear that it was all perfectly fine and edible inside. I didn’t think sponge would last that long without going stale.)
