This cake is definitely my 2013 favourite so far! It’s a square topsy turvy which even though it’s a single tier, the shape is still quite effective. I originally wanted to create the pier purely from sugar, but the fisherman turned out to be too heavy so the pier has a cardboard base. The wave technique I came across when I first discovered cake decorating – I remember thinking, ‘Oh, I’m so going to try that one day’ and lo and behold I actually remembered to do so! Overall, this cake was just so much fun and a bit hard to part with come collection time. Thanks for looking :)
