Max & Ruby Fantasy Picnic

This cake was ordered for a 3-year old birthday girl – she wanted a Max & Ruby theme and I created a “fantasy picnic” for her by incorporating little details like a picnic basket filled with carrots & shredded lettuce (coconut) – I made little teacups, a tea kettle, a carrot handle on the door, lots of flowers and the Max & Ruby figures – I used gumpaste, fondant & buttercream to create the decorations. The cake was a white sour cream with an almond buttercream filling – I made the inside checkered (pink and white) as a surprise for the birthday girl – the cupcakes were Chocolate fudge with a buttercream topping.
