I made this cake for a friend’s son who is crazy about Pirates of the Caribbean. It is 45 cm long and 55 cm tall. I had to pay special attention to detail because the birthday boy would notice any inaccuracy. Except for the ship’s figurehead, which had to be changed due to technical difficulties, most every detail is true to the original.

The bow and stern are RKT, the masts are bamboo dowels and the sails are gum paste. Everything else is fondant. It took over 50 hours to complete over a 3 day span.
