Story Cake

I am a believer that a cake should tell a story. When I was asked to provide a cake for a Pastor’s Anniversary, his wife gave me a brief history of how the church began, and what sacrifices the Pastor made to grow his church. She spoke of him previously working for UPS and saving every penny to build his church into what it is today. She also described a loving man that never boxes up his feelings. He easily expresses love, and is a very caring and giving man that values family. She also explained that, although things were tight, their children always had the best. She explained that they had traveled a very rough road, but he remained loyal in his faith, and always stood on the word of God. So with that being said, this is the design that I came up with for his cake. A road with an open box with scattered memories of family and good times. At the end of the road is the pastor, where he always has been…standing on the word of God.
