This is my latest cake for a lovely young guy that has just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. He was away for his 21st but they wanted to do something special on his safe return. I was given a beautiful photo which I have photoshopped to take out the soldiers and used as a background then modelled the soldiers as in the pic. I was really up against the elements this last week and the soldiers have spent 10 days in my oven to keep them safe from humidity. I was so worried I’d forget and turn the oven on! The cake itself is 2×7” cakes, moist choc with dark choc ganache. Lettering is handcut.
Thanks so much for looking. I felt privileged to be asked to make this cake.

Jacinta… I know I keep saying it… but when I first clapped eyes on this cake, the emotion welled up inside me… it is so symbolic to so many of what these brave soldiers are doing for us and our countries.. you have captured it here in every way and in every detail… and that photograph backdrop just puts the whole thing into perspective… you are a superstar and a jolly talented one at that!!! love you hun!!!
