I made this pleated cake for my niece’s birthday. She loves burgundy roses and they are also the color of her birthstone (garnet). I chose light gray for the cake as I’ve been wanting to make a gray cake for a while. Since it’s still winter here it seemed like a good time to try it. She’s not a frilly kind of person so this is what I came up with. Fondant over buttercream and gumpaste roses and leaves. All carrot cake with cream cheese filling.
