A retirement cake for someone that plays the banjo. I tried to make the banjo as detailed as possible. I painted on the name etc with white chocolate, made the strings out of fishing line, and made the banjo picks from gum paste. It was a very time consuming cake, getting the strings to stay put was a bit frustrating. And the cake I used was too light and started falling apart on me in areas as I was trying to crumb coat, I definitely learned some things doing this cake.
