This is the second wedding cake of the year for me. At the start of this year I had not stencilled a cake at all and my first two wedding cakes of the year incorporate stencilling. I never seem to see the potential risk that because I haven’t done it before I could totally stuff it up haha. I see it as an opportunity to further my skills and do something i haven’t tried yet. :-)
I think this cake looks small but it’s size is deceiving. It is a double barrel 10inch caramel mudcake, that is just over 8 Inches high. It was extremely fun to cover haha (NOT) and a 7 inch marble mud cake that is 4 inches high. It looked so stunning in the Venue and I cant believe i forgot my camera but i got these shots before we left home. thanks for looking x Tina

Wow this is stunning Tina! I love the stenciling! I’ve been wanting to try stenciling for awhile now. I’m sure it was a challenge with such a huge cake.

Thanks Toni. It really isnt that hard and i found it sooo much easier on bigger cakes than smaller cakes. I cant seem to get the stencil to adhere to the smaller cakes as well because of how stiff the stencil can be whereas the larger cakes your not trying to bend it around so much and it sticks better with the shortening :-) Give it ago it is super quick and you get pretty instand results which i love hehe

This is gorgeous! I have never tried stenciling either, but you make it sound that it is easy!! Well done!
