This was a very special cake I made for my wonderful mother for the 29th Feb earlier this year. She’s a leap year baby so officially this was for her 18th birthday. I really wanted to make her a pretty cake – I don’t often get the opportunity – and I also wanted to try out the billowing effect for the sides of the cake.
