Hummingbird deco for my grandmother

This is a cake that I did for my grandmother’s 86th birthday. She decorated cakes years ago and I was always interested in it. Spring of 2011 I took my first class and have been hooked every since. My goal was to be able to make her next birthday cake and here it is.
Cake is WASC, french Vanilla and chocolate. Flowers are all made from royal icing or fondant. The hummingbird on top was gumpaste that I hand painted with food coloring. I think she liked it. Her most favorite things are flowers and hummingbirds. She giggled when she saw the little guy on top and said “Wow, you’re really good. I’ve never done anything like this.” Thanks mamaw!
