Cake for Children

With this cake I won the prize in the competition web “Cake for Children” whose theme was children and solidarity.
I pondered how it was possible to transform the sugar paste in solidarity and children and the only thing I could think of was the picture of the Israeli child and the Palestinian child walking arm in arm.
Once I have decided that the position on the topper was for them, as nothing in my best represented solidarity between children of this beautiful picture, I thought the other decorations should not deprive them of their scene. For this I used a lot of color and geometry and added a few other elements including the shadows of children who are climbing the flag of peace.
The point is that for many children, surely including all children Israelis and Palestinians, peace is an achievement and not a right.
Many of the fans of my page have voted for me in the competition but what surprised me most is that so many other votes and compliments were of people which normally did not have contacts.
The photo was shared by many people who do not know and this has made me enormously happy.
I have never won a competition and it was a great emotion succeed in an environment as beautiful as that of Cake for Children!
