The client for this cake owned the three cars in the cake and was VERY specific about their representation on the cake. The Xmas tree (lights) had to be very accurate also. The scale of the cars is perhaps matchbox car size for the corvette and Monaco, the altered (yellow) is about a third longer again. The day I made these the temperature hit 38 degrees Celsius, and the humidity was through the roof! The icing was sooooo sticky I didn’t need any glue! Didn’t make for a great finish, but I didn’t know what else to do in this heat/humidity!?!?
