Fish wedding cake

This was a bit of a bizarre order from a friend who got married yesterday (New Year’s Day).

She and her fiance met online via a website called Plenty of Fish, hence the fish theme. They used the fish on all their invites etc and the initials on the fish are their married initials which they asked me to incorporate.

On the invite, the fish is sitting on a piece of aged parchment paper so I tried to make the base cake match. The tweed covering on the cake board was featured as the background on the invite and is a print of the actual material of the groom’s suit.

Base cake is chocolate fudge with chocolate ganache and the fish is madagascan vanilla sponge with vanilla bean buttercream.

Spectacular. You’ve taken something that should probably not ever be featured on a wedding cake and made it beautiful. Love everything you do.
