This is my first Quinceañeara Cake… Had tons of fun designing it with the birthday girl and seeing her face when she saw it!!!

This is absolutely STUNNING! I love the billow effect, the gorgeous flower, and the color combination!! I’ll bet the birthday girl was ecstatic!

Hi Toni.. Thank you so much…. Yes, she was…. She’s a 15 year old who’s been taking fashion designing for a year and her dream is to be a fashion designer in Paris… The colors were those of her party!!! This really was a great cake to work with, it had lots of techniques I wanted to try out. The flower was the final touch ensuring we could incorporate the color Magenta, which is very difficult to achieve in fondant, but much easier with gumpaste and the center of the flower (simulating a fabric flower) was in rhinestones…. the perfect touch to a fashion inspired dress. I also enjoyed doing the mannequin…

Definitely a fun cake!!!

You need to post a few more pictures of the closeup details of some of the elements of the cake. I’d love to see your flower and mannequin up close. They are awesome!
