My very first call to duty for Icing Smiles was for Cody’s third birthday cake. Yesterday, I had the honor of making my third cake for him, Toy Story for his fifth birthday. The bottom tier is fresh strawberry and the top tier is vanilla-almond, both filled and frosted with vanilla-almond buttercream. The decorations are fondant. All figures (Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Slinky Dog and Dinosaur) are hand modeled from Saracino modeling paste, a bit of a challenge for me since I am not good at cartoons. Cody is such a sweetheart and it is a joy to make him smile. (Sorry for the poor quality pictures)
