Terracotta Flower Pot Cake with handmade Roses, Pansies and Chrysanthemums

I was asked to make a cake for a colleagues Nan’s 85th Birthday. I was approached with no ideas and after asking a few questions found out her favourite flowers were yellow roses and red chrysanthemums… well my first thoughts were “hmmm… red and yellow” (they don’t exactly complement eachother very well) So I got thinking of what I could do to have the two flowers yet give the cake a nice vibrant colour scheme…. So I came up with the idea of making a flower pot and adding a few extra flowers to compliment….. Zoe was thrilled with the result of my idea and loved the cake… another happy customer, such a great feeling :) x
