This cake was made for a friend’s wedding last week. During the initial consultations the bride was unsure what she wanted her cake to look like and it was only after she issued the wedding invitations that we both decided the cake should match with those in order to tie in with the theme of the wedding. The bottom tier is a 12" chocolate brownie cake with chocolate buttercream icing, the second tier is a 10" Madeira with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream icing and the top tier is a 6" zesty lemon cake with lemon curd buttercream. The 8" tier is a dummy tier, used to add height to the cake, which was the only thing the bride had decided on in her original brief. The sugarpaste bride on the cake topper is holding an Xbox controller behind her back instead of a bouquet as the groom loves his computer games and the bride wanted him to know she would be taking charge of that now! lol (the third photo is of the cake topper before it was placed on the cake) Accents on the cake are royal blue ribbon, diamanté and simple rice paper butterflies. I have to say I loved the simplicity of this cake, it looked gorgeous when the room was set up and the Bride was over the moon when she saw it. :o)
