For this piece I was inspired by Dali himself and his peculiar moustache and by some of the elements he often uses in his creations like the clocks and butterflies. I decided to create a bust of Dali on top of the characteristic set of mouth and nose, used by Dali in several paintings, particularly in “Apparition of the Face of Aphrodite of Cnidos”, wich served as inspiration to one of the Dali’s range of perfume bottles. The melting clock on his moustache, evoques his most famous painting “Persistency of Memory”, although the melting clocks are seen in many of his creations. Also butterflies are one of the symbols of Dali’s work.
