texturing this cake was going to be a challenge for me. It literally goes against everything i strive for when ganaching a cake, which is that glorious perfect canvas for fondant. The cake had to have that rough light and shade look and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I kept getting out my bench scraper to try and smooth it hahaha in the end i had to put it away to stop myself smoothing it lol.
i would have loved to make the sugar flowers to top this cake but the real ones do look soooo stunning and matched the cake perfectly. I did get to make sugar flowers for the cupcakes though :-)))
