My name is Natalia Salazar Gill, I am 40 years old, I am a Plastic Artist, Pastry Chef, blogger, and YouTuber.
I was born in Quito-Ecuador, but I live in the United States since 2015. I started in the world of artistic pastry in 2010 and since then it is my passion along with art since they go hand in hand. In my Blog and YouTube channel, I share my recipes, tutorials, experience and work I do with people who like my work. We have created a beautiful community.
In all these years I have had many satisfactions because I have managed to merge my two passions: art and pastry. Besides that every day I learn something new, I discover a material, a recipe, a technique. I have learned a lot by teaching and sharing with my students, both in the classroom and online. I have been able to travel, train with great teachers and meet many people involved in this same artist, I love that!
About my work:
She is “Angelita” and is my representation of an angel, a feminine figure, strong, solvent and wise. I really like the aesthetics of the angels with their white dresses and bird wings, also they are considered protective beings for each of the human beings. Magic and beautiful beings, in each epoch of history they have been represented in different ways. In this case, this is mine.
The techniques that I used for its realization were: modeling in Cherry and Cake sugar paste, rice paper for wings with internal structure. It was completely hand-modeled and painted with shades and glitter from Cherry and Cake.
