This was for my Godson’s 40th birthday which was on the 3rd but we were celebrating it today. Unfortunately party has been cancelled because his little boy was hospitalized yesterday. Hopefully it is nothing serious. Not sure what I am going to do with the cake. Don’t thin’t I have room in the freezer for it. Also pinwheels have wafer paper and I don’t think it would survive. Bottom is lemon cake drizzled with elderflower syrup filled with lemon curd and frosted with white chocolate SMBC. Top is coconut cake filled with passion fruit curd also frosted in white chocolate smbc. Update:Little boy is doing a little better and should be released in a couple of days.

So lovely! Just a suggestion, but if you close it well in a cardboard box and put that in a nylon bag, it might do OK in the freezer.

So sorry, dear Goreti, not just for the beautiful cake that looks fantastic and you did a great job but also for the sad reason to cancel the celebration. I wish quick recovery and I believe the sweet little boy will be fine soon! ❤️😇

Fantastic design, Goreti! If you can squeeze out a space in the freezer, could you remove the pinwheels and reattach them later? It really is a shame. Hopefully the little boy will be released and well in a couple of days and the cake will still be fine.

It’s lovely xx I had a cake party cancelled and the cake was put into the freezer for 3months sealed well in a cardboard box covered with lots of plastic bags and I’m told it defrosted and tasted fine. I’d take off the windmills and let them dry off. They’ll be fine as long as they’re out of the sunlight and stay dry. xx I hope the little boy is up and having fun again soon xx
