Thanks so much ladies. I was nervous about getting him right. I had some major luck when I discovered that my local craft store carried Wilton “extra fine point” edible markers. That was exactly the tool needed for the fine lines!

Thanks Toni! Those name letters are from a random set of 100 cookie cutters i got at Target. They have come in handy :)

I’m with Toni on the letters. They really look great and I think that’s what makes the topper “pop”! Please elaborate more on how you cut the letters out. Did you just ensure the fondant was thick and then cut (red)? I am assuming you let the letter dry out for some time. Thanks for your time! Again, I love it!

Thanks LaTanya! For this topper, I mixed some gumpaste in with my fondant colors to help they dry harder and faster. (especially since we are having rainy, humid weather.) I rolled the red out thick and cut the letters and cleaned up the edges. Then, I rolled the blue much thinner and re-cut each letter in blue. I affixed the blue fronts to the red backs with water. The next morning, I used a blue edible pen to make the lines on the top corners of each letter to add dimension. Let me know if any other questions :)
