This is my contribution to the amazing Couture Cakers Collaboration hosted by Heba M Elalfy.
I was inspired by an extravagant design from Guo Pei an Chinese fashion designer. She created this design for the HK Fashion Extravaganza 2010 show as part of the Hong Kong Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010.

The “Jewel” is constituted by 3 floors, the lower floor was inspired by the central part of the creation. I decorated with motifs in the form of arabesques, blue jewels and small silver dragees, placed manually on the cake, the middle floor and the base were decorated with gold lace and the top of the cake was inspired by the extravagant coat that the creation has.
To accomplish this project I used Satin Ice sugar paste, Cake Lace, Dinkydoodle Designs airbrush paints and Rainbow Dust powder dyes.
