Gold Lantern Cake
I wanted my cake to be glamorous, to look rich and to have unconventional shape, inspired by the photo. I wanted to combine all the Moroccan glamour, richness and imagination in my project. I decided that two of the tiers of the cake would have the same texture as the lanterns, so the only way was to craft them by hand, without using any molds. The lanterns in the photo were in different golden shades as well as oxidized gold but I want to use another sparkling and exotic color too. That’s why I chose a vivid purplish red color – fuchsia for flowers. The flowers I have chosen are typical for Morocco – Dahlia and Bougainvillea.
This was my first wedding cake and I hope you like it.
