Magnolia & Geometrics

This was my birthday cake (November 2017) I always wanted to make Magnolia flowers and present them on a cake with a clean modern interpretation, that demonstrated understated elegance. I think large oversized blooms can always help to achieve this. As a cake maker you are always trying to please your clients with design, this one was fun it was just for me. Base tier was an extended height 8” tier, top tier was 5” tall tier. The cake was chocolate with dark choc ganache, 💕💕I am a true chocolate lover. Cake was covered in fondant with gum paste flowers. My birthday was celebrated at a beautiful restaurant in the historic centre of Perth City, The State Buildings, Western Australia with our extended family.
