The inspiration for my piece is Mrs Winifred Banks, who is my favourite Character as she is sweet, ditsy and funny as well as being an emancipated champion of Women’s Rights, much to the dismay of Mr. Banks! As a suffragette she stirs up the female servants to join her cause, a cause which is close to my heart.
The piece shows the Iconic “Votes for Women” sash, her yellow tulle underskirt and collar and the lilies represent her golden blonde hair topped off with a miniature boater.
