chocolate plastique roses cake

this was for my parents joint 60th birthday party. It was 5 layers of cake (chocolate, almond, orange flavored) sandwiched with a brandy spiked chocolate buttercream and covered in dark chocolate ganache. Topped with hand moulded chocolate plastique roses and candied orange zest sprinkles, it reduced the birthday girl to tears and got a lot of admiring, but took a lot of convincing to actually cut :)
