Steelers Football Cake

I never want to make a cake like this again!!! It seemed like anything that could go wrong did! The helmet is carved out of cake and covered in fondant. I made the gum paste face guard three times as it kept breaking on me and infact the one you see in the photos is not the one on the cake I delivered as it to broke about 40 minutes before the party! Ugh! Lukily I had made one extra. I gave the second tier some texture to resemple that of a football. The bottom two tiers were inspired by a cake from Cakes by Dusty. Hope you like it! It was NOT fun to make but I learned a lot!
