The Barbie doll that I picked for this collaboration is the Lady of the Manor doll by Robert Best in 2006. It is part of the Silkstone Gold Label collection. The initial sketches caught my attention, and when I examined the doll, I found so many elements of it that I was inspired.

I was drawn to the lace and floral embroidery work on the gown and sheer. The white colour contrasts against the warmer tones of brown, yellow and pink, and I designed some pearled tiers to highlight the sheen of the gown. The cake was made out of several tiers to give the design a dramatic look, and also to highlight the beauty of the floral work on the gown.

Pearls were added to the lattice as the dress was, to add an element of aristocracy. The cake is finished off with a pink ribbon that was worn around the waist, to give the cake a subtle femininity and posh approach
