This was my first vehicle cake, I made the silicone mould for the wheels/tires and used a photo of George’s actual tanker for reference. The cab was polystyrene the tank was Madeira cake filled with vanilla buttercream, both were covered with white chocolate ganache and fondant, wheels and details were all fondant. Sign post was made with gum paste with gumpaste covered wooden skewers for the posts.
Base board was covered with fondant with black royal icing stippled on for tarmac road effect and green piped with a grass tip, the road markings were marked out with electrical tape and white RI scraped over with a spatula.
