Here is my contribution to the Sport Cakes for Peace, which is a collaboration created by Elisabete Caseiro from @BetySugarland – Cake Design by Elisabete Caseiro to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, April 6th, 2017. Every year the 6th April is a celebration of the power of sport to drive social change, community development and to foster peace and understanding. This date also marks the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896.

This was an open collaboration and everyone who was interested could participate creating a Cake, Cookies or Sugar Piece representing this theme. At the end we were 50 cake decorators from 22 countries all over the world and we tried to cover a wide range of sports.

For my piece I chose Skiing and since the 6th April also marks the opening of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896, I incorporated the green, red, yellow, blue and black colours, which are the colours of the logo of the Olympic Games, in my design.
