For the very first time a group of 27 talented exponents of this sweet Art have gathered from all over Italy to entertain your eyes through their masterpieces and celebrate the Italian art, icons, symbols, music, history, trying to portrait the different areas of our Bel Paese. “Italian Sugar Dream” will take you to a journey through the heart and soul of one of the most beautiful Country in the whole world!

About the Piece:
LEONARDO DA VINCI (Anchiano, 1452 – Amboise, 1519). Engineer, painter and Italian scientist.
Leonardo da Vinci was a man of ingenuity and universal talent from the Renaissance period. I feel for him an immense admiration. I hope Leonardo can forgive me and he won’t be rolling in his grave because of the interpretation I am giving of some of his work, but unfortunately … I couldn’t resist!
The old paper effect is made out of wafer paper, cinnamon and ginger powder. I hand-painted with cocoa Leonardo’s drawings. Modelling with sugar paste was used for the Mona Lisa, Lady with an Ermine, Vitruvian Man and “Man in flight”.
In realizing this artwork I loved and admired every brushstroke, every form and design. I’ve been carried by a magical atmosphere enveloped in sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, ginger and … a touch of irony.
