One of my best friends told me that SHE wanted to propose to her boyfriend with a cake and I was so excited. She came over and we discussed what he liked, and wince he is a welder and they met while they worked at a bike shop, and he is also a giant squid lover, this was the end result. Super fun to work on!
Vanilla Bean cake filled with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and covered in Satin Ice fondant. The squid was made from armature wire and modeling chocolate and then painted with fondust and confectioner’s glaze. The gears were made of Satin Ice fondant and then dusted in metallic sheen.
