This was my piece for the Carnival Cakers’ collaboration, which I was so proud to be a part of. My mask was based on a Venetian costume and I loved the black and white with a hint of silver in the rose.
The mask itself is hand-painted. The fabric effect around the face was achieved by stencilling onto sugarpaste and then I used cake lace around this to soften the effect. The feathers are wafer paper, airbrushed black.
