I designed this especially for my best friend on her birthday.
Wings, seashells, starfish and coral are made of meringue. Isomalt water splashes. I style and shoot all my pics and create real background bokeh using Christmas lights draped with lace or organza. I never use fake bokeh backdrops. So after I finish my cake, I put away my mixer, clean off my stainless steel work table, grab my Canon 60D and Ef135mmf2/L and my cake art studio becomes a food photography studio ;)
