The most exciting New Year I’ve had is being a part in this Sugar Myths and Fantasies collaboration with so many great artist.

My piece is Gatotkaca in the form of traditional Rod Puppet from West Java, Indonesia. It is made entirely with Fondx.

Gatotkaca is the son of Bima (the strongest of Pandawa brothers) and the princess giant Hidhimba (Arimbi) in the Mahabharata, a great Hindu epic. He is the consummate warrior, symbolizing bravery, loyalty, honesty, and military strength. Gatotkaca, recognized for his coarse features and fears military skills, has since become one of its most important heroes and is often associated with the young men who fought for Indonesia’s Independence.
