Yggdrasil for Sugar Myths and Fantasies - Global Edition

My piece shows Yggdrasil, the world tree, mentioned in the “Edda”, a collection of mythological stories from Scandinavia.
You can see Yggdrasil, holding nine worlds between its roots. The dragon (snake) “Nidhöggr” eats Yggdrasil’s roots, the deer eats its foliage. The eagle and the dragon are contrary figures, that don’t speak directly to each other. The function of the squirrel “Ratatöskr” is to bring messages from the eagle to the dragon Nidhöggr. The norn is watering Yggdrasil’s roots.
