This is my last cake of 2016 and I absolutely loved making it. It was extra special as I made it for my beautiful Aunt <3.
The cake is hand carved from a stacked 10 inch vanilla madeira cake filled with whipped vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam.
The top has a hand painted thistle design with edible gold guild trim. The bottom drawer is open and has hand sculpted edible pearl bracelet, gold heart pendant on a chain and a nurses fob watch, which all reflect things related to my Aunt.
The box is hand painted and airbrushed to give a realistic wood look and pattern. The drawers are trimmed with gold sculpted handles and the cake is presented on a velvet effect iced board.
