I had the privilege of being a part of this wonderful Christmas collaboration, “Home For the Holidays,” where we retold our favorite Christmas stories through sugar.
My piece was inspired by the original and timeless Christmas story. Although most people only talk about Jesus’ birth around the holidays, there is more to the story. This is the story of Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection. The star of Bethlehem flower represents His birth, the dogwood represents His crucifixion, and the Easter lily represents His resurrection. The gift box and evergreen branches represent the free gift of eternal life that God offers to all who will believe in His Son.
