This is a cake I made for a vernissage that took place at the Basel Art Center in Switzerland. The theme was “Seeking Peace” and of course the first things that came to my mind were peace doves and olive branches.

The front shows a handpainted dove in zentangle style and has gumpaste olive branches to give it more depth. The sides show peace doves in a rather simple style, also handpainted.

I really enjoyed making this cake and I am very happy to be able to work together with the Basel Art Center for vernissages. They give me the theme and let me free reign to do whatever I want. That’s wonderful, I love it!
