I tried to think outside the box of what a traditional halloween cake is supposed to be. I have always found garden Gnomes a little creepy, so I decided to turn this traditional German feature into a lurking creature of sinister intentions. Happy Halloween.

The toadstool cap is chocolate cake, while the gnome and frog are fondant and gum paste.

I began making cakes with the arrival of children, and one special motivation is having a child with a peanut allergy and wanting him to enjoy wonderful cakes that he can safely eat and also look awesome.
