Such a fun wedding theme! I love Halloween so this was a treat to do! When the bride and groom said they wanted to be surprised, I told them I wanted to create something “creepy-elegant” and they got very excited!
This was my first time using cake lace applied to a cake (I’ve used it for cake boards before), and also my very first airbrushed tier (despite having gotten a top quality airbrush and compressor as a gift from my husband two Christmases ago!). I love goth, and I adore corsets and lacing, and the whole way they can translate into a cake tier. I also had a blast adding a little bit of hand-painting with the bats on the lower tier. And what fun to have an occasion to make black roses too!
The cake itself is white vanilla almond, and the top tier is filled with strawberry buttercream, and vanilla buttercream for the bottom. Both tier are coated in white chocolate ganache.
