This was a Quentin Tarantino movie-themed fundraiser for the SEARCH Foundation. “A Shot of Adrenaline to the Heart” The cake was display only, & we served cutting cakes from the kitchen & also the AMAZING cookies created by my incredibly talented friend Charlene Smith of Charlie’s Cakes and Cookies. The detail on the cookies blew me & everyone else away. Just stupendous!

The cake was mainly Pulp Fiction & Kill Bill themed, with a few others mashed up in there—-Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained, Jackie Brown, & Inglourious Bastards all represented as movie posters hanging on the wall of the iconic Jackrabbit Slims. Featuring the Kill Bill jacket & sword, lighted briefcase (yes, it lit up!), Royale with Cheese, & the $5 shake.

VERY SAD though. We had to go pick it up at midnight after the event Friday night. The Cakemobile decided to die, apparently because we left the hazards flashing for a long time while we were getting the cake out. We finally got a jump start & got home after being stranded for quite a while, but in the garage, my rear hatch refused to open no matter what we did. The cake was literally 1/4 inch shorter than the inside of the Cakemobile, so we couldn’t get it out. It was already nearly 2am so we gave up. It is so hot here, most of the modeling chocolate elements melted off, even in the garage. :‘( But on the bright side, I did figure out how to get my door open & working again. I can fix everything that is damaged, but after working on this thing for a week, I don’t want to! Dang it! That stinks!!!
