Princess Castle Cake

My first castle cake! I had so much fun making this cake! As I was leaving to go deliver, the front tower came lose and fell…luckily it fell in to me. I was able to fix it and had to tie a ribbon around it on the drive. This cake was delivered literally what should have been 5 mins from my home. But we had a torrential downpour Saturday morning and so some of the roads were a mess and the clients driveway was bad…I was so nervous holding on to this cake for dear life lol. Luckily with my little repair kit I bring I was able to do some touch ups and all was well. :) Cake is strawberry vanilla with vanilla buttercream icing and covered in vanilla fondant. Turrets are made out of oreo cookies that I stacked with melted chocolate in between to secure down. Turret roofs are made out of ice cream cones that are filled with cake as well. I had planned on put dowels through the oreos, but didn’t take in to account how hard it would be to get them through the chocolate once it hardened. Next time I will do that before hand lol. TFL!
