This cake was made for a friends birthday. I learned how to achieve the look after watching a class and just made a few tweaks so it more suited the person – the lap top and blanket etc. It was one of the first novelty cakes I did and I really enjoyed creating the character.

The cake was an 8" lemon and poppy seed cake with lemon buttercream. I hadn’t yet been introduced to ganache so the covering is a bit bulgy in places but I suppose this suited the theme!
