This 5 tier wedding cake is inspired by Pantone colours of 2016 – Serenity and Rose Quartz. The colours represent harmony between warmth and calm.
I tried to stay true to the idea by showing harmony between both colours and neither being overbearing. When looking for a motif that tied these two colours together, cherry blossoms seemed the most recurring theme. Pale pink blossoms against a warm blue sky seemed to represent everything these colours are about.
The bottom tier is a serenity based stain glass, inspired by a painting I liked. The next tier is a wafer paper cherry blossom print. Above that are rose quartz shards representing the colour as well as the gem it gets its name from.
The top two tiers are (Japanese) cherry blossoms in a vine like structure dangling above a Japanese style room.
