Hydrangea Cake in Pantones Colour of the year 2016 Hydrangea Cake in Pantones Colour of the year 2016

This cake is designed around the colours of the year released from Pantone ‘Rose Quartz’ and ‘Serenity’.
I love these colours and blended Serenity from the bottom up towards a band of gold leaf in the middle and into Rose Quartz at the top. There are a lot of hydrangeas on this cake, not to mention all those that broke along the way! (sigh).
I painted the background adding spots of gold and then touched all the flowers with petal dusts and gold. Some of the hydrangea were wired and popped out from the cake to add some movement.

Another cake I designed for my table at Squires Exhibition 2016 in the wedding cakes showroom.
