Amber Agate Geode Cake

Amber Agate Geode Cake
Amber Agate Geode Cake

My project for Rachael Teufel’s latest Craftsy class on Geode Cakes. Covered in fondant, modeling chocolate for the geode rim, colored rock candy for the crystals, gold and silver leaf. The agate slice was an idea that came from a real agate slice sent to me by a friend. I marbled the fondant in gray, white and tan, rolled it out and used the real agate slice as a pattern. Allowed to dry and then brushed the edges with gum glue and dipped them into crushed colored rock candy.

You did a gorgeous job Shirley! Love, love it! I was so impressed with your geodes that I took the Craftsy class, too. Haven’t made anything yet, but I will!

Thank you ladies. It took me awhile to get all the supplies I needed to make this but am happy it is done. Sandra did you like Rachael’s class? I found her to be very easy to follow step by step.
