This cake was my first alternative styled cake……it made me realise I wanted to do more in this style. So I set up Tattoo-cakes and acquired some loyal and fabby tatoo cake loving fans :O)
This cake is based on a piece of art by Brooklyn based artist Pinkytoast. It is a heart shaped cake, the girl is carved into the cake and all covered in fondant, which has been painted. The flowers are made from petal paste. I tried to make the cake come alive by giving the artwork lots of 3D features like the sugar skull, flowers, ruffle and hair bow.
